McIntosh MCT500

Immerse yourself in music with the McIntosh MCT500 SACD/CD Transport. A purely digital unit, the MCT500 offers four digital outputs: balanced, coaxial, and optical outputs, alongside McIntosh's exclusive MCT connector. It can be paired with any device featuring standard digital inputs and a DAC, including select McIntosh home theater processors, integrated amplifiers, and preamplifiers, for CD playback.

For SACD playback, the MCT500 uses its proprietary MCT output, which connects (via the included cable) to a McIntosh product with an MCT input. Compatible devices include the D1100, C53, C2700, C49, and D150 preamplifiers, and the MA9000, MA8900, MA7200, MA5300 integrated amplifiers or MAC7200 receiver. This connection creates a secure digital link, allowing for high-definition audio from SACDs, with regular CDs also playable via the MCT connection.

The MCT500 handles a variety of disc types, including SACD, CD, CD-R/RW, and DVD-R, with a dual laser optical pickup ensuring optimal reading. A front-panel USB input allows easy access, supporting a wide range of file formats such as AAC, AIFF, ALAC, DSD (up to DSD128), FLAC, MP3, WAV (up to 24-bit/192kHz), and WMA from user-generated CD or DVD Data Discs and USB flash drives.

Advanced disc transport technology, featuring a precision die-cast aluminum tray and digital servo, ensures smooth, quiet, and accurate operation. The MCT500 reads audio data at double the normal rate for better disc tracking and enhanced error correction. Integration with other McIntosh components is simple via Power Control and data ports.

Encased in signature McIntosh design, the MCT500 boasts a polished stainless steel chassis, black glass front panel, illuminated logo, and aluminum end caps, perfectly complementing any McIntosh system.
