McIntosh RS250

The RS250 Wireless Loudspeaker System is McIntosh's most powerful and advanced wireless speaker, delivering an exceptional home audio experience. Similar to the mono RS150, the RS250 is a complete stereo wireless speaker solution that stands alone, requiring no additional components.

Equipped with a range of built-in casting technologies including Spotify® Connect, TIDAL® Connect, Apple® AirPlay® 2, Bluetooth®, Chromecast, and Roon Ready, the RS250 offers seamless streaming from smart devices. It also eliminates the need for a dedicated control app, allowing control directly from compatible streaming apps, making it even more convenient to use.

Designed for music lovers, the RS250 delivers everything needed for streaming music from handheld devices, online services, or a local computer. It even includes a dedicated phono input, so you can connect a turntable and enjoy vinyl records. Plus, you can easily connect the RS250 to your TV for enhanced audio performance while watching movies, shows, or sports.

With an impressive 650 watts of total power, the RS250 drives two 4" x 6" woofers, four 2" midranges, and two 3/4" tweeters. The midranges and tweeters are front-firing, while the woofers are down-firing, producing sound from under the chassis above the base plate. The reengineered woofer enclosure minimizes distortion, and the addition of bass control lets you fine-tune the low-end for your room and preferences. Plus, an external powered subwoofer can be connected for even deeper bass.

For improved TV sound, the RS250 features an HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) input, allowing audio to be sent from ARC-compatible TVs through a single HDMI cable, eliminating the need for extra cables. If your TV isn't ARC-compatible, an optical input is also available.

The RS250 supports TIDAL HiFi's 24-bit/192kHz high-resolution digital music files and serves as a Roon Ready endpoint device, ensuring superior streaming quality. For Bluetooth streaming, it supports Bluetooth 5.0 and the advanced AAC and Qualcomm aptX™ HD standards for hi-res audio playback. It also features aptX Low Latency for syncing audio with video.

In addition to streaming, the RS250 includes inputs for non-streaming sources such as CD players (optical), a Moving Magnet phono input for turntables, and a 3.5mm AUX input. A 1/4" headphone jack is conveniently located on the front panel for private listening. It also offers wired ethernet and supports Wi-Fi (a, b, g, n, ac) for flexible network connectivity. The RS250 is also compatible with Google Assistant, enabling voice control.

Unique to the RS150 and RS250, the illuminated digital output meters respond quickly, using the same trusted circuits as McIntosh's analog meters. These meters process the audio signals and display them as pulsating, gradated bars that mirror the shape of McIntosh’s iconic analog meters.

The RS250 is versatile enough to meet the audio needs of nearly any room, designed primarily for streaming but with enough features to function as the hub of a small home audio or home entertainment system. Classic McIntosh design elements, including a black glass front panel, illuminated logo, and control knobs, ensure it complements any space.
