High-Resolution Preamplifier and Digital Section
The STR Preamplifier supports asynchronous USB audio up to 32-bit/384 kHz PCM and DSD 2.8/5.6 MHz sources. This USB audio input transforms digitally stored audio from your Windows or Mac computer into warm, natural analog sound, providing a rich and immersive listening experience.

The STR Preamplifier features the most advanced version of Epic Systems Room Correction (ARC®), offering 50% more processing power than previous iterations. This proprietary calibration tool, with its user-friendly interface, optimizes the acoustic characteristics of your speakers to deliver the best sound quality in your unique listening environment—particularly at lower frequencies.

Additional features include a high-resolution preamplifier and digital section that supports asynchronous USB up to 32-bit/384 kHz PCM and DSD 2.8/5.6 MHz sources. Its signal processing employs 64-bit accumulation and feedback, preserving fine details in the music and avoiding degradation. The digital-to-analog conversion section is meticulously designed to faithfully reproduce every nuance of the original source material.

To ensure peak performance, a dedicated asynchronous 32-bit/192 kHz sample rate conversion is implemented. This ensures the DAC stage’s anti-imaging filter is optimized for unmatched audio purity across the frequency range, regardless of input format. Data is also reclocked to eliminate source jitter and maintain high fidelity.

Advanced Subwoofer Configurations
The STR Preamplifier offers extensive subwoofer configuration options. Use a single subwoofer, dual subwoofers for both channels, or independent left-and-right channel subwoofers. The bass management system, combined with ARC®, ensures seamless subwoofer integration, resulting in an incredibly accurate and lifelike audio experience.

Support for Vinyl Playback
Acknowledging the resurgence of vinyl, the STR Preamplifier includes dedicated inputs for moving magnet and moving coil cartridges. The phono section is fully shielded to maintain a pristine signal, ensuring the rich transparency of your vinyl records shines through.

For records predating the RIAA equalization standard, the phono curve is continuously adjustable, providing proper playback for any vintage recording.

Home Theater Bypass
The STR Preamplifier elevates the integration of a stereo preamplifier with a home theater system. It supports two subwoofer channels in addition to the main front channels. Both XLR and RCA connections are available for all channels. The HT Bypass mode allows the preamp to remain in standby while still routing audio, eliminating the need to turn it on during movie playback. With relays that hard-wire input jacks to outputs, the STR Preamplifier functions as a pure, transparent signal path.
