Description
The MX100 A/V Processor is engineered for modern home theaters that prioritize digital inputs while omitting legacy analog connections from the past. It offers McIntosh's renowned home theater performance in a simplified design, ensuring you have everything you need for optimal enjoyment of HD and 4K content, Blu-ray and Ultra HD 4K discs, and DVDs.
Designed with versatility in mind, the MX100 can be discreetly installed in a rack or mounted out of sight, thanks to its 2U rack-friendly dimensions and removable mounting brackets. While perfect for hidden installation, it also has an elegant design that suits display in an open space for all to appreciate.
The processor is equipped with 4 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output, all HDCP 2.2 compliant, and supports 18Gbps of bandwidth for High Dynamic Range (HDR) formats such as Dolby Vision™, HDR10, HLG, and 4K Ultra HD at 50/60Hz. It also features 4:4:4 color spacing, Rec. 2020, 3D video pass-through, and Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) for superior audio quality from your TV.
For audio output, the MX100 delivers 11.2 discrete channels in a 7.2.4 home theater configuration. It employs seven premium 32-bit Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) to provide audiophile-grade processing. Balanced XLR outputs ensure clean, high-quality sound to your amplifiers and speakers. Bass and treble tone controls are included for personalized sound adjustments.
The MX100 supports leading surround sound formats, including Dolby® Atmos and DTS
™, and is fully compatible with 4K Ultra HD video sources for unparalleled picture quality. To optimize sound based on your room’s acoustics, the built-in Audyssey MultEQ® XT32 calibration software offers over ten thousand control points to correct room imperfections.
The setup process is straightforward, and configuration can be preloaded via a computer for easier installation. You can also back up or experiment with different setups using a computer or USB stick. Full operation is possible via remote control, or it can be integrated into home automation systems using the RS232 control protocol.
The MX100 pairs seamlessly with McIntosh home theater amplifiers like the MI347, MC255, and MC257, and can be expanded with additional amplifiers such as the MI254 or MI128 for complete system coverage. Despite its compact design, the MX100 retains signature McIntosh aesthetics, including a black glass front panel, illuminated logo, and silver trim, ensuring it fits beautifully into any setup.
